Walk

The Get script command sends an snmp GET_NEXT request to the current IP variable, according to the current variables on the SNMP Fetch panel (IP, Timeout, SNMP Ver, Community String), and SNMPLastObject from the Variable Viewer panel.

Syntax:	Walk				Comment
Example:	Walk				SNMP Get_Next the currently selected IP, Ver, Community String, SNMPLastObject, with currently selected timeout
Associated command may be bound to Walk to set any or all current choices
Example:	Assign	IP	=	192.168.2.252	Associated command to set IP destination
	Assign	Timeout	=	5	Associated command to set Timeout
	Assign	CommunityString	=	public	Associated command to set CommunityString
	Assign	SNMPVersion	=	v1	Associated command to set SNMP Version
	Walk				SNMP Get_Next

Notes:

• Walk performs an SNMP NEXT request to the OID last received (SNMPLastObject) instead of the SNMP Fetch panel's OID/Object list. As such, it necessarily must follow a prior received message.
• The typical operation of SNMP Walking is to perform a GET from a root OID and then repetitively perform Walk until all objects have been read.
• When the last object in a device has been read via Get_Next, a device typically returns the same OID as requested (because there are no other sequential OIDs). An SNMP Walking script can test for this condition (when the returned OID is the same as the Get_Next requested OID) to termination polling.
