MIB roots can be defined completely within within the MIB definition file without relative reference to any other root. The example depicts the 802dot11 MIB defined within the MIB definition file as 1.2.840.10036.

Although parents of a root entered without relative reference are not displayed in the tree, this has absolutely no effect on program operation or snmp communications.
