Message Log

Program message log panel displays the log of messages sent and received. The log operates circularly up to the user selected maximum length. Once the message log has grown to this max length, each new log entry automatically discards the oldest entry.

Message Log controls

• Clear
  Both clears the current message log, and sets the maximum allowed message length from the Max Log History control
• Max Log History
  User selection for maximum log length. Activated when the user operates the Clear control.
• Select From Available message log Files
  Message logs can be saved to the Log folder. Message logs can be given unique or meaningful names, or can be saved without name whereby the program automatically names them with the current system time. The pulldown displays all existing message log files from the Log directory available for selection.
• Load
  Load the currently selected and previously saved message log.
• Save
  Save the current message log to the Log folder. Message logs can be given unique or meaningful names, or can be saved without name whereby the program automatically names them with the current system time.

Message Log Entries

The log entries themselves serve as selection control to other panels. Highlighting a message in the message log selects that mesage for the message viewer and message content panels. Finally, whenever a message log entry is added it is automatically highlighted / selected.
